Beyond Zero Emissions welcomes positive funding announcements today by Energy Minister, Angus Taylor. A significant number of these initiatives are set out by the Beyond Zero Emissions (BZE) Million Jobs Plan

Eytan Lenko, Chair of Beyond Zero Emissions said:

“Independent economic modelling of the BZE Million Jobs Plan shows that investment in initiatives that accelerate decarbonisation will benefit the recovery of Australia’s economy.

“The refunding of ARENA is key to Australia reaping the benefits of decarbonisation, through its support of emerging technologies.

“Improved energy efficiency for commercial and residential buildings will lower energy costs and create construction industry jobs.

“A focus on aiding manufacturing and industry to adopt new technologies has long been championed by Beyond Zero Emissions and it is wonderful to see strong support for this.

“Support for regional EV charging infrastructure will boost the takeup of electric vehicles in Australia and alleviate ‘range anxiety’.

“Support for regional microgrids and the deployment of solar and batteries will benefit regional communities by increasing their resilience and lowering cost through the replacement of expensive diesel.

“Regulatory support for projects such as the Star of the South offshore wind farm and Marinus Link will accelerate their development, create thousands of jobs and reduce power prices.”
