Our exceptional solar and wind resources, and advancements in big batteries and pumped hydro assets can position Australia as a world leader in renewable energy

It is essential that all new electric technology is powered by renewable energy, with any excess stored in big batteries which play a key role in backing up or 'firming' the grid. To rapidly progress to a zero-emissions economy, we need to accelerate the replacement of fossil fuels with renewable energy sources. Multiscale energy storage systems in homes and commercial buildings will also be required to ensure a stable power supply.

To rapidly reduce emissions, we need:

  • Large wind farms both onshore and offshore
  • Solar installations on utility, commercial, and residential scales
