Continuing our deep dive into our 'Diversifying the Hunter' project, Sam will be joined by two innovative leaders in the Hunter's new generation of manufacturers.
Last month the International Energy Agency sent shockwaves across the globe with the release of its roadmap to net zero emissions by 2050 that showed there can be no new oil, gas or coal development. The IEA is the world’s leading energy authority and known for its conservative modelling.
With so many industrial regions of Australia on the frontline of both tectonic changes to energy technology and an historic, global economic crisis, it’s little wonder that public attention to the long-term prosperity of our regional communities has been renewed.
The good news is that with big change, come big opportunities. A Renewable Energy Industrial Precinct has the potential to create tens of thousands of jobs for industrial regions over the coming decade. By clustering manufacturers powered on 100% renewable energy, we can support the removal of emissions from their supply chain at a globally competitive price – which is exactly what global investors and corporations are hungry for. A Renewable Energy Industrial Precinct would build on Australia’s existing world-class energy expertise and diversify and adapt to changes in the global energy market.
And best of all, it will support the work of hardworking entrepreneurs invigorating the economies of regional centres around the country.
We warmly invite you to meet two such innovators, Dr Joss Kesby of Diffuse Energy and Justin Bain of 3ME Technology, at this month’s discussion group.
