About the report

The world is approaching a tipping point in the transition from polluting energy to sustainable and clean energy. This is a timely opportunity for Australia as our traditional energy advantage is disappearing.

Domestic energy prices have increased steeply and our commodity exports are falling out of favour. Having supported the economy in the past, Australia's emissions-intensive energy resources have become a liability.

The global transition is a second chance for Australia to re-capture this advantage. Our world class renewable energy resources will be the basis of abundant, internationally low priced energy once more. This time it will be a sustained advantage, supporting a productive economy into the future.
